New trick, and a souvenir!

Nadia finally learned "paw"/shake today! It took a long time for her for some reason.
Every time I balled my fist with a treat she'd get frustrated and plop down and stare at me sadly, or just keep nosing it. It took a while but I used some hotdog, and I balled my fist and kept encouraging her for several minutes until she finally pawed at it. I guess mom needed to be more patient last time!

In other news, she lost a tooth this morning while playing tug-of-war, so I finally have one I can keep! I was worried she'd swallow them all!

Starting Intermediate!

We had our first intermediate class tonight. She already knows some of the intermediate stuff, but this will be good to make sure she gets them all down pat. The main thing we need to work on right now is distractions!

Some days she's fine, she'll see another dog barking at her, wanting her attention, and she'll still mind me. Other days it's like I'm not even there, and I could put a piece of hot dog in front of her mouth and she doesn't even notice! Crazy pup.

She did good in class, though. We've worked on heel at home a little, but we did more training on that in class today. We also did "down stay" with distance, where she lays down and stays while I walk off. She did VERY well with this, I walked about half way across the store, and around a corner, with her off leash and laying by herself, and she stayed! We did it several times, and she obeyed every single time. So proud of her!

More Friends!

Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures, but Nadia had her first visit to the dog park today! We met all sorts of little pups (we aren't brave enough for the big dog side), and all the people were very friendly too. We plan on visiting quite frequently when the weather isn't too hot!

Beauty

I got my new camera in today! I need to get a memory card, it doesn't hold many pictures just yet. But expect more soon!

Oh boy...

Nadia may or may not have gotten out of her crate while I was at work. I have no idea how, but I know how to prevent it from happening again at least!

Training!

Nadia is coming along very well in her training. She's got "sit", "lay down", "stay" with distance, sit for greeting (mostly), and "come" down very well. Now we're working on "play dead", which we're using "bang!" as the command. It's ADORABLE. She puts her little legs over her head too! Super cute.

I'll take a video of it once she's got it down perfectly. Such a smart girl!
